When you invest in people the rewards are endless, let community Council Seat 3 be the communities that are truly “The Villages”

A Native of South Florida born in Miami Dade County. I grew up on County Line Road which is the dividing line between Dade and Broward County. I was raised on the Broward side which was Hallandale Beach Florida, because the Dade side of County Line Road was undeveloped.

There were only 9 black families that lived in the area at the  time and a few businesses, we truly lived off the land. The old house we lived in still exist it was purchased by our neighbor and it is currently a Moose Lodge. Today, County Line Road exist in The City of Miami Gardens, it is now a municipality of 105,547 residents incorporated on May 13, 2003. It is the third largest city in Miami Dade County after Miami and Hialeah. The dirt roads are now paved roads and there are businesses and high rises along each corridor. I had the opportunity to work with the committee during the inception of The City of Miami Gardens. We have resided in the Scott Lake Community for 39 years.

I come from a proud Military Gold Family that has been involved in public service for as long as I can remember. Activism and Advocacy has been my life’s work since I was a young adult in high school. Under these two titles Activism and Advocacy I have done work throughout Florida, Washington D.C., Port-Au-Prince Haiti, New York and South Africa.

I have been married to my best friend and college buddy for 47 years and to this union came two children that are products of the public school system, they both graduated from Historically Black Colleges. My children are now parents and between the both of them I have been blessed with four beautiful grandchildren.

If you’re a messed-up man, you’re going to contribute to a messed-up family, if you’re a messed Family, you’re going to contribute to a messed church, if you’re a messed up church, you’re going to contribute to a messed up community. A messed-up community adds to a messed-up state which leads to a messed country resulting in a broken world.

The only way to remedy a broken world is to build it with better countries composed of better states filled with better communities influencing better churches attended by stronger families led by better men, it starts with you.
